• Leverage digital platforms to enhance awareness and visibility of MBIDEA’s work.

6. Development of Bankable Projects & Carbon Removal Initiatives
As part of MBIDEA’s long-term sustainability strategy, we will develop bankable projects that attract investments and funding from climate finance institutions, development partners, and impact investors. This will enable the organization to:

• Establish Carbon Removal Units (CRUs): Implement large-scale tree planting, forest conservation, and agroforestry projects that capture and store carbon dioxide, contributing to global carbon reduction efforts.
• Participate in Carbon Markets: Work towards certifying carbon credits under international standards, allowing MBIDEA to trade CRUs and generate revenue to fund community programs.
• Enhance Climate Resilience in Mbinga and Beyond: By reducing carbon emissions and restoring degraded landscapes, these initiatives will improve soil fertility, water retention, and overall ecosystem health.
• Support Local Livelihoods: Communities engaged in afforestation, reforestation, and sustainable land use practices will benefit from employment opportunities and direct incentives through carbon financing mechanisms.

By integrating carbon removal business models, MBIDEA aims to position itself as a key player in climate action, ensuring the well-being of Mbinga communities and contributing to national and global environmental goals.
